Watford UK, 02.04.2008 – At its VIP event to celebrate the opening of its new UK headquarters combining both scientific and consumer operations under one roof, Olympus UK also launched the latest addition to its clinical chemistry analyser range – the AU680. The event provided guests with the opportunity to examine the AU680 analyser up close and learn more about Olympus’ broad range of services directly from its customers.

Following an enjoyable evening of fine dining at the Grove Golf Resort Hotel, guests met at the new OlympusUK corporate headquarters, Vision House, for a series of informative presentations and an exclusive tour of the new product demonstration facilities. Giving insight to his first hand experience using the AU680, David Ricketts, Laboratory Manager at North Middlesex Hospital spoke of the benefits the analyser offers through new features such as the incredibly easy-to-use software and fast-track reruns. David Ricketts and his team also evaluated the new whole blood automated HbA1c test which correlated very well in comparison to manual methods thus providing great time savings in the laboratory whilst providing a vastly improved service to clinicians and their patients. Under-pinning the expansive range of Olympus products is the Olympus Managed Services Contract (MSC), led by its expert financial partners Genmed ME. As Robin Modak of Genmed ME explained, “The Olympus Managed Service Contracts are developed totally with the customer in mind. This is your contract, to meet your needs to deliver the best technical and financial solution”. The Olympus MSC allows complete vendor choice and therefore ensures true ‘best of breed’ across all disciplines. The event was a truly combined experience, reflecting the united Olympus spirit. The exclusive tour of Vision House covered not only diagnostics but other Olympus product groups including patient safety, voice, endoscopy, and microscopy, giving guests a thorough overview of how all areas of Olympus work together cohesively. Touring the demonstration facilities gave guests an opportunity to experience the integration of Olympus platforms.
